Alabama Art Colony at Children's Harbor

    With autumn in the air, Children's Harbor is the perfect spot on Lake Martin to paint.  The beautiful campus is located 15 miles south of Alexander City on Hwy 63.  It is built around a picturesque New England seaside village motif and features the lighthouse and a charming little early American church, Children's Chapel. 

    The lakeside setting is perfect for the five day workshop with two separate facilities to paint for each instructor, a galley for breakfast, lunch and socials, and two cottages for participants encouraged to stay on campus during the week long colony.  The Harbor Lodge is new and you can see photos of the new facilities by clicking on this link:
 


 

Directions:

From Birmingham, Alabama:

Take Highway 280 East to Alexander City, Alabama. Turn right onto Highway 63 South for about 15 miles. The Children's Harbor Lake Martin Campus is on the left as you cross the Kowaliga Bridge.

From Columbus, Georgia:

Take Highway 280 West to Alexander City, Alabama. Turn left onto Highway 63 South for about 15 miles. The Children's Harbor Lake Martin Campus is on the left as you cross the Kowaliga Bridge.

From Montgomery, Alabama:

Take Highway 231 North to Wetumpka. Take Highway 170 until it dead-ends into Highway 63. Take a left onto Highway 63 North and go approximately 12 miles to the Children's Harbor Lake Martin Campus which will be on the right just before you get to the Kowaliga Bride.
